Guidance for Eating With Braces
Eating with braces can be tricky, but Farley Orthodontics in The Woodlands, TX is here to help you succeed. Our team will guide you through the dietary changes needed to protect your braces and maintain good nutrition. We're committed to making your orthodontic journey as smooth as possible. Hard foods may bend your wires or loosen cements holding brackets in place; they could break the brackets or your teeth. Sticky foods are also problematic, risking damage to your appliances by bending wires and loosening cement.
We also discourage foods with high sugar contents while you are in treatment. If you do consume sugary foods, brush your teeth as soon as possible to avoid discoloration to your teeth or damage to the appliances. Even rinsing out your mouth with water can help.
